Complaint Management and Discipline

Overview

The purpose of the NHPC’s complaint management and discipline policies is to uphold standards of professionalism, ethics, and quality of care within the healthcare sector by providing a transparent and accountable process for handling complaints and enforcing disciplinary actions when necessary.
NHPC enacts a complaints management and discipline regulation that establishes standards and requirements for receiving and managing complaints about registered health professionals, and for dealing with disciplinary matters (conduct, performance, ill-health) relating to registered health professionals.

  1. To protect the community from any harm that may arise from possible medical malpractice committed by health professionals while they are performing their duties.
